By Sam Louie, MA, LMHC
Broken,
fallen,
years clinging to worthless idols,
shrouded in shame
publicly disgraced,
privately humiliated,
forgotten by all,
yet God stays committed,
even in my misery.
I remain steadfast,
look up even when down,
surrender without security,
knowing my safety,
is in your hands.
So I commit to you,
as you commit to me,
no matter my image,
shattered,
shamed,
but embraced by you,
the Almighty.
I in return,
submit my spirit,
my soul,
a broken vessel,
in a posture of humility,
a sacred covenant of trust.
