Broken Vessel

By Sam Louie, MA, LMHC

Broken,
fallen,
years clinging to worthless idols,
shrouded in shame
publicly disgraced,
privately humiliated,
forgotten by all,
yet God stays committed,
even in my misery.

I remain steadfast,
look up even when down,
surrender without security,
knowing my safety,
is in your hands.

So I commit to you,
as you commit to me,
no matter my image,
shattered,
shamed,
but embraced by you,
the Almighty.

I in return,
submit my spirit,
my soul,
a broken vessel,
in a posture of humility,
a sacred covenant of trust.
