Imitating other Masters is a good way to learn poetry, but you must remember that poets are all different, every poet’s voice is different. That's what's most important. It’s what makes poetry distinctive.

To qualify for selection for the anthology, poems and stories must have been read at PoetryBridge at C&P, but we do not worry about its publication history. A poem or a story can be published before or after its reading at the C & P, but its being read at the C & P is a must

The first thing is avoid self-pity like the plague. The second thing is don't pay attention to what seems to be going around you just work at a steady pace and soon all kinds of good things will happen to you.

Everywhere I looked, I saw a flowing stream of banners, puppets, colorful homemade signs, and the ubiquitous knitted pink pussy hats which created a carnival spirit of celebration and  joyousness that awakened the hope in me that had gone dormant temporarily.

I think overall it pushes us all to look at what our responsibility is as a society when it comes to housing. Zoning laws are changing. These units are quite small – some as little as 100 square feet – and yet they can be expensive, while we still have people who cannot afford shelter at all.
